Met Outside
Delete your account
This page explains how to delete a Met Outside account. You can read it without logging in. Deleting the account requires you to log in so we can confirm it is yours.
How to delete your account
- In the Met Outside app, open Profile, then Settings, then Delete account. Enter your password and type DELETE.
- On the website, log in, open Settings, then Delete account. Enter your password and type DELETE.
You need your password. Deletion cannot be undone.
What is removed
- Deleting your account removes your login and your active profile, including your name, bio, interests, and profile photo.
- Your profile photo file is deleted. Follows, likes, and your active participation in plans are removed.
- Upcoming plans you host are cancelled so other people are notified.
What is kept
- Completed and cancelled plans stay for the other people on them. You are shown as Deleted User, not as an active profile.
- Messages you sent in those plans stay for the other participants. Gathering photos you uploaded stay with those plans. The photo files are not deleted.
- Met Outside also keeps a restricted former-account record with your email address, phone number, date of birth, 18+ confirmation, and the Terms and Privacy versions you accepted.
- Safety reports stay so a complaint can still be reviewed. The restricted record and retained plans, messages, and photos are not an active public profile.
Met Outside has not set an automatic deletion date for that restricted record or for retained plans, messages, gathering photos, or safety reports. A specific retention period has not been approved. This is not a statement that keeping those records without a fixed end date is legally sufficient.
